2024 Shepton PTSA Reflections Winner
Shepton PTSA Reflections Contest Winner Announced!

Congratulations to Shepton 9th Grader Darby Stewart for the winning submission in the "Visual Arts" category for the Texas PTA Reflections program! Darby will now move on to the District level for overall PISD judging. The theme this year is “Accepting Imperfection”.

Darby’s piece is entitled “Harmony”, and her description is below:

"This piece explores the idea that our imperfections, like the random lines and doodles, are what give us depth, character, and individuality. If we stripped those imperfections away, all that would remain is an empty shell, symbolized by the skull at the center. The skull represents what’s left when we strive for unattainable perfection, but the life, the uniqueness, is in the mess around it."

Make sure to click to enlarge the image to view all the intricate details. Congratulations, Darby, on your amazing work!

Texas PTA Rally Day is February 24, 2025!

Whether it is organizing a school meeting to discuss classes for students with special needs, participating in the Texas PTA Rally Day, meeting with Texas State Legislators, or calling a member of Congress to talk about the federal budget, PTA members are making a difference for children and families in their communities and across the country. After 120 years, at its core, PTA advocacy is still about speaking for every child with one voice.

On January 16, 2025 at 12:00 p.m., join us for the final "Meeting with Your Legislators" webinar in preparation for Rally Day 2025.

In this session, you'll learn how to

  • Plan ahead
  • Get support from your ISD and community
  • Handle logistics (transportation, lodging, meals)
  • Create a sample schedule
  • Make the most out of the legislative (adult) and student caucuses
