Spring 2024 STAAR/EOC Test Dates!

Shepton students will test in the following areas on these days:

  • Tuesday, April 16: English I EOC and English II EOC (makeup date April 19)
  • Wednesday, April 24:Biology EOC (makeup date April 26)
  • Tuesday, April 30: Algebra I EOC (makeup date May 3)

On testing days, students should come to school with a charged Chromebook, water bottle, and a snack. Make sure to get plenty of rest the night before your test and eat a healthy breakfast before testing!

Purchase your Student Raffle Tickets Through April 19!

It's Raffle Time! Shepton PTSA is excited to hold a Student Raffle for students to purchase tickets for the chance to win some amazing prizes!  Students can purchase raffle tickets during all lunches from April 5-19.  

Single tickets are just $2 each or buy 3 tickets for $5! We accept cash, credit/debit, and even Apple Pay!

Some of the amazing prizes are:

  • Donuts for a class

  • Pizza lunch with friends

  • Favorite Starbucks drink delivered to class

  • Buff City Soap Box (valued at $50 in All Hail the Queen scent)

  • Lululemon Belt Bag

  • Shepton Spirit Wear

  • And More!

Proceeds from the raffle will go to fund our PTSA Staff Appreciation & Teacher Grant funds.  Please encourage your student to participate!   

Step Out Returns Friday, April 19!

Shepton Step Out is coming on Friday, April 19! During an extended lunch period, your student is encouraged to "Step Out" and have lunch outside. Shepton STUCO will have food trucks, drinks, and snacks from several vendors (including your PTSA!) available for purchase. Plus, there will be plenty of music and fun with friends! 

PTSA will also be at Step Out with Spirit Wear available for sale. You won't want to miss this!

Watch for more information soon, including a revised bell schedule and volunteer opportunities. It's going to be a fun day!

Student/Staff Holiday on Monday, April 22!

PISD will be closed to students and staff on Monday, April 22. Enjoy your long weekend!

Shepton Staff Casserole Day is April 24!

Show our Shepton staff how much you appreciate them by providing them a take-home casserole dinner on Wednesday, April 24

With your donation, Shepton PTSA will gift a reusable tote bag filled with a casserole, bagged salad, rolls, and dessert to each staff member. 

Please help us feed 150 Shepton staff members by donating one or more casseroles here! Donations accepted through Tuesday, April 23.

Each casserole dinner will be delivered with a "Thank You" card with donors' last names on it!

We need casserole volunteers! Click here if you can help sort and distribute casseroles on Tuesday, April 23.

Shepton Senior Scholarship Opportunity!

Shepton PTSA is offering two $500 scholarships to graduating Plano ISD seniors who are two-year alumni of Shepton High School. 

Applicants must meet all of the qualifications, including being a student member of Shepton PTSA during both years at Shepton.

To apply for the Shepton High School Alumni Scholarship, eligible applicants must submit the following:

  • Complete and signed application form
  • A 500 to 1000 word essay titled “Shepton High School – A Stepping Stone to My Future” plus cover sheet
  • Official school transcript with GPA

Applications are due no later than April 30 and must be delivered or mailed to Georgette Bird. Address and contact info is in the application.

Plano West 24-25 Physical Day is May 8!

On Wednesday, May 8, Plano West is hosting its annual Physical Day for all West Cluster athletes from 3:00-6:00 p.m. in the Plano West SAC. Each physical is just $20, and all students must pre-register/pre-pay before arriving at Plano West. 

Visit here for forms and instructions, including medical history forms, payment information, and instructions. Times for each group are listed as well. Please make sure to attend during your group’s time slot and be on time!

All students participating in Plano ISD activities are required to have a yearly physical prior to participation in any tryouts, practices, games, or competitions for PISD athletics. 

Physical Day Reminders:

  • All athletes must have a current signed medical history to attend.
  • Registration and payment must be completed before arriving for your time slot.
  • Physicals must be completed on the official UIL physical form.

Plano Youth Leadership Seeking Applicants!

Plano Youth Leadership is seeking current 9th Graders for our 2024-25 class, and we need your help to spread the word!

PYL is a nine-month leadership learning experience for sophomores who reside in the Plano city limits or live in the Plano ISD attendance zone, regardless of the school they attend. A vital part of the community for nearly 30 years, PYL develops confidence and provides the knowledge necessary to help students succeed in leadership positions.

PISD Student Attendance Parent Information Sessions

Join the Plano ISD Family & Social Services Department for the in-person parent attendance information forum entitled “I’m Present”. The last session will take place on Thursday, April 18, at the PISD Cox Building (1517 Ave H, Plano) at 6:00 p.m. Participants will learn more about Texas Compulsory Attendance laws, PISD truancy prevention measures and tips to help increase your child's school attendance.

Special Needs Community Awareness Day is April 20!

Join us for the 10th Annual Special Needs Community Awareness Day Event held at Plano East Senior High on Saturday, April 20 from 12:00-3:00 p.m.!

Over the past 10 years, the Special Needs Athletic Program at PESH has provided the special needs community with an opportunity to become one of the most inclusive districts in North Texas. In partnership with various companies and organizations, we have been able to host not only this event but all-inclusive Sensory Proms, Valentine dances, field day events as well as our monthly Panther Pride basketball games, and many more extra-curricular activities. 

Please join us as well as the entire community as we commemorate a day of awareness for our special need students in the community!
