Shepton PTSA General Meeting

Please join us for our first Shepton PTSA General on September 15 at 11:30 AM.  This call will be held on Google Meet at the following link:  https://meet.google.com/bei-rvfa-kzx

Visit https://meet.google.com/, type in the code above (beirvfakzx), and it should direct you to the call.  If you’ve never used Google Meet and have questions, please visit https://support.google.com/meet.

To help streamline our time, a form has been created for parents to send questions in to Shepton administration.  The form will close the Friday prior to our first meeting (9/11) so that all questions can be sent to Mr. Banner and Mr. Jones.  This will allow them time to prepare and answer those questions during our first general meeting.  The form can be accessed here.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Brandi Stevens at president@sheptonptsa.org.

Brandi Stevens
2020-2021 President
Shepton PTSA

Plano ISD is excited to announce the launch of our new volunteer management system, VOLY, which will be used for the 2020-2021 school year. The new system is now live and can be accessed at pisd.edu/volunteer. While Plano ISD is not able to host volunteers onsite at this time, logging in now will allow you to get a head start on completing your volunteer application, online orientation and criminal history check. These three requirements must be completed annually to be eligible to volunteer in Plano ISD.

Legislative News

Governor Abbott has waived the grade promotion requirements for 2020-21 STAAR testing.  Your Texas State PTA is advocating for a complete waiver of STAAR for this school year given all the additional issues related to Covid-19. Plano PTA Spirit Splash

The Plano ISD Council of PTAs annual Back to School Splash at Hawaiian Falls scheduled for Sunday, September 6, 2020 is still happening but in a modified form due to the coronavirus and the unique times we live in.

This year there will be no private PTA party in the evening, no cabanas for PTAs, and no official PISD Council of PTAs presence at the water park that day. $5 from each ticket purchased goes to the PTA designated at the ticket window that day--be sure to say you are with Plano West PTSA! The discounted ticket price offered is the best ticket price available for a one day entry.

Hawaiian Falls is open at 50% capacity and has Covid-19 measures in place that can be found on their website. This is for Hawaiian Falls in The Colony, not the Garland location. The park is open from 11:30am-6pm on 9/6.

Shepton PTSA will receive a donation of 0.5% of all eligible sales purchased through our Amazon Smile account! You can link your account to the Shepton PTSA charity and help our PTSA earn money for events and programs that benefit all students!
